7/22/2024

On July 20, 2024, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School (OLSHS) hosted the first General Parents and Teachers Assembly of the school year, fostering a close-knit community spirit. The event began with the introduction of our dedicated school administrators, faculty, staff, and maintenance team, each playing an integral role in the school's smooth operation and excellence. Following the introductions, a comprehensive general orientation was held to familiarize parents and teachers with various student services available for the school year, such as counseling, extracurricular activities, and special educational programs. This session provided detailed insights into how these services support student development both academically and personally.
A significant highlight of the assembly was the election of the General Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) officers for the 2024-2025 school year. These officers represent parents' interests and work closely with the school administration to enhance the educational environment. Enthusiastic participation in the election underscored the community’s commitment to active involvement in school matters. Additionally, the assembly included the election of Homeroom PTA officers, who ensure dedicated representation for each homeroom, focusing on classroom-related issues and enhancing communication between parents and teachers. The election process was conducted efficiently, ensuring each homeroom has the support needed for the upcoming school year.
A pivotal moment during the assembly was the principal’s presentation of the newly revised Philosophy, Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives (PVMGO), along with the institution’s Core Values. The revised PVMGO-CV was developed through comprehensive data analytics and qualitative feedback collected from parents, students, and staff. Key insights from the data highlighted the need for simplicity, inclusivity, and relevance in aligning the school’s guiding framework with contemporary educational and societal goals. The updated PVMGO-CV emphasizes holistic education, academic excellence, and spiritual growth, all while being concise and accessible.
The principal’s presentation detailed the process behind the revision, showcasing how stakeholder collaboration played a vital role in refining the school’s core principles. Parents and teachers applauded the new framework, with one parent commenting that the updates effectively balance clarity and meaningful content. The school encouraged ongoing participation from all stakeholders to ensure the PVMGO-CV continues to evolve in response to the community’s needs.
The July 20, 2024, General Parents and Teachers Assembly was a resounding success, strengthening the bonds between parents, teachers, and administrators, and setting the stage for a collaborative and productive school year. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and look forward to a year of growth, learning, and community building.
