Project LIGTAS is an initiative that directly supports several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), showcasing a holistic approach to community development and resilience.

• SDG 4: Quality Education: The program is founded on experiential, inquiry-based, and project-based learning. It enhances students' skills in research, critical thinking, and practical application of knowledge, moving beyond traditional classroom education to provide real-world, hands-on experience. This ensures an inclusive and equitable quality education that promotes lifelong learning opportunities.

• SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities: This goal is a core focus of Project LIGTAS. By strengthening the resilience of both the school and its surrounding community, the program directly contributes to making human settlements safe, resilient, and sustainable. The development of a local flood detection system is a tangible example of using innovation to protect citizens from disasters.

• SDG 13: Climate Action: Given the program's focus on disaster risk reduction, particularly for hazards like flooding, it serves as a critical local response to climate change. The activities empower the community to adapt to and mitigate the impacts of climate-related disasters, fostering a proactive culture of preparedness.

• SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals: Project LIGTAS exemplifies the power of multi-stakeholder partnerships. It is a collaborative effort between students, teachers, parents, community elders, and local experts, which is essential for achieving the SDGs. By engaging diverse groups, the program builds a stronger, more inclusive foundation for sustainable development.
