Quezon City – January 10, 2025 — Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School (OLSHS) began the year with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass on January 10, 2025, held in honor of the 300th historical foundation anniversary of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters.
The Eucharistic celebration served as a spiritual opening of the year for the entire OLSHS community, with students, faculty, staff, and guests joining in prayer and reflection. The Mass highlighted the enduring legacy of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters, who have dedicated three centuries to education, evangelization, and service to the Church and society.
In his homily, the presiding priest emphasized gratitude for the congregation’s history of fidelity to their charism and encouraged the community to continue living out the values passed down by the Recollect founders. Special prayers were also offered for all Recollect Sisters around the world, especially those currently serving in mission territories.
“This year is a grace-filled time not only for the Sisters but for all of us who are beneficiaries of their mission,” shared one teacher. “We are proud to be part of this historical milestone.”
The celebration marked the beginning of a series of events and programs at OLSHS that will honor and celebrate the Tercentenary of the Augustinian Recollect Sisters, in alignment with their continuing mission of formation, compassion, and spiritual renewal.
