Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School recently conducted a series of Psychological First Aid sessions led by Sr. Mary Joy A. Dula, A.R., RGC, the School Guidance Counselor. The sessions were aimed at promoting the mental well-being of teachers, students, and parents, and provided valuable insights into handling stress and emotional challenges.

The first session took place on September 25, 2024, at 2:00 PM for teachers. Sr. Mary Joy guided teachers on recognizing stress indicators, effective coping mechanisms, and the importance of maintaining a supportive environment for students. This session emphasized self-care and resilience for educators as they navigate the demands of teaching.

On September 27, the session for Junior High School students was held at 2:00 PM. The focus was on helping students understand how to manage stress and anxiety, with Sr. Mary Joy providing practical tools and strategies for emotional regulation and coping during challenging situations.

The final session was held on September 28 at 9:00 AM for parents. Sr. Mary Joy offered guidance on identifying signs of emotional distress in children and discussed how parents can effectively support their children's mental well-being at home.
